Demonstration of Circulating Antisperm Antibodies in Patients with Varicoceles with Immunobead Test

Abstract

|
|
Immunologic factors probably contribute to a substantial numbers of cases of unexplained infertility and antibodies to sperm in either the male or the female have been implicated on the pathogenesis of infertility.
To assess the existence of possible immunologic factor in varicocele-associated infertility, we searched for antisperm antibodies in serum in fifteen clinical varicocele patients and twenty normozoospermic fertile men as control, with the use of an immunobead test. None of these both groups were found to have an serum antisperm antibody and no difference between the varicocele and control group was also observed for serum IgG, IgM and IgA.
